Shirley Woodall Cowell

SHREVEPORT, LA – Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Shirley Ione Woodall Cowell, 76, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Bro. R.K. Young, Bro. Buck Furlow, and Bro. Don Tinsley. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday evening between the hours of 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Shirley was born on November 2, 1937, to parents Millard and Addie (Bates) Woodall. She went home to heaven on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. Shirley was a child of God, a member of Indian Hills Baptist Church, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 57 years, William K. Cowell; sons, William “Craig” Cowell and wife Cygil Anne and Richard “Rick” Nolan Cowell and wife Serena; daughters, Teresa Taylor and Kelly Bollingham; brother, Nolan Woodall; grandchildren, Andy Bartlett, Emily Bartlett, Victoria Grillo, Tracie Taylor, Erin Cowell, Ayden Cowell, Christin Callens, Jessica Bollingham, and Kathy Babers; and great-grandchildren, Loralye Bartlett, Axle Hamblin, and Kayden Callens.

Honoring Mrs. Cowell as pallbearers are Troy Craft, Andy Bartlett, Robert Stozl, Sonny Nusman, Don Tinsley, and Dennis Hershberger.

The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the charity of choice.
