Sidney owned and operated the Yellow Canary Hobby Shop in Bossier City for many years. During her time as owner of the Yellow Canary, she taught various hobby and painting classes and made many friends. She was a very creative and talented artist who loved working with her hands and making arts and crafts. Sidney created many wonderful things with her talents, and this could be seen if you walked through her home and observed many of her lovely oil paintings and works of art.

Her parents Bryan A. and Aline Platt Smith preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 52 years, David L. Miller, Sr.; her daughter, Debra Marie Miller of Haughton, LA; son David L. Miller, Jr. and wife, Cathy, of Bossier City, LA; son Bryan Miller and wife, Vickie, of Frisco, TX; and four grandchildren, David Randolph, Michael, Alexis, and Nicholas.
