Thelma L. Small

She was a longtime resident of Haughton, Louisiana and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Haughton.

Thelma loved working in her yard and tending to her garden. She stated that the things that made her smile were raising her children and grandchildren and canning her own vegetables.

Some of her childhood memories included playing with her sisters and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her first husband, James D Weems and second husband, Bobby R. Small; three sons, James David Weems, Michael Weems and Danny Weems and two sisters, Peggy Permenter Mudd and Mildred Permenter Giovengo.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Joseph Weems and wife Leslie of Shreveport, Louisiana; sister, Sara Permenter Kennedy: daughter-in-law, Sue Weems and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 23 from 5 until 7 pm at Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton, Louisiana.

The Celebration of Life Service will be at 11 am, Tuesday, February 24th in the chapel of Hill Crest Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
