

BOSSIER CITY LA- Services for Tommie Baird Pepper, 84, will be held Saturday April 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Haughton United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Dungan officiating. Interment will follow at the Haughton Cemetery. The family will be receiving visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2012 at Hill Crest Funeral Home.
Tommie was born on August 12, 1927 in Haynesville, Louisiana, and went to be with the Lord April 4, 2012 in Bossier City. She retired from teaching science and math ay Haughton High School after 29 years. She was a member of the Haughton United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and a former member of the Village Lions Club. Tommie was an avid sports fan and she loved spending time with family.
Tommie was preceded in death by her parents John T. and Audrey Harrell Baird.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James W. Pepper; son, John Pepper and partner Randy Joiner; daughter Ann Andrews and husband Maurice; sister Evelyn Walker; brother Joe Baird and wife Edmee; granddaughter Karen Jordan and husband Jason and great granddaughters, Elizabeth and Audrey Jordan.
Pallbearers will be her former students and friends, Harold Porter, Walter Jamar, Leon Maxey, Jimmy Gibson, Charles Parker, and Byron Noble.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to A.C.T.I.O.N. food bank in Haughton.
