Services in his honor will begin with a visitation of Family and Friends from 10 to 11 AM at Southern Methodist Church of Haughton, LA. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following with Brother Ira Schilling presiding over the celebration of his life and Pastor Paul Zimmerman assisting.
Travis was born on May 20, 1959, in Shreveport, LA to parents, Kenneth (Punt) & B B Boyter.
Travis was raised in Oil City and Shreveport, LA, graduating from Southwood High School, Class of ‘77.
On November 19, 1997, he married his best friend and shooting partner, Dawn (Walkington) Bennett.
Travis was proud to be one of the original local hires for the General Motors Shreveport, LA facility, from which he retired in 2006.
Travis was a loving husband, father and PaPaw “T”. He was a man with a giant heart and caring nature. Travis enjoyed many hobbies to include: Sporting Clays and the shooting sports; classic cars, to include his beloved 1940 Ford Coupe; motorsports and auto racing. He loved watching the high speed dragster! He was an amazing BBQ master and cook. He was never happier than when he got to share these things with his family and many friends. Travis was a Big Man, with a Big Personality and he will leave a Huge Hole in our Hearts.
Mr. Boyter was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth “Punt” Boyter.
He is survived by his: mother, B B Taylor Hampton, Waskom, TX.; wife of 23 years, Dawn Boyter, Doyline, LA.; children, Dana Boyter Levendikis, DeBerry, TX.; Cassey Bennett (& Carl) Bernstein, Calhoun, LA., Trevor (& Brianna) Bennett Godfrey, IL.; grandchildren: Taylor Levendikis, Addison Levendikis, Emery Mae Bennett; and brother, Kenneth Boyter, Bossier City, LA.
