Valerie (Primeaux) Mitchell

after battling colon cancer for 5 years.

Valerie was born on October 13, 1972 to Donald Primeaux Sr. And Brenda F Matte in Abbeville,

LA. Valerie graduated from Indian Bayou High School in 1990. Later in life, she went on to study

Respiratory Therapy at Louisiana State University Eunice. After graduating with her degree, she

started her career at Willis-Knighton Medical Systems as a respiratory therapist caring for

hospital patients. She worked there for 14 years. On March 24, 2009, Valerie married the love of

her life David Mitchell. During her spare time she enjoyed watching food cooking shows,

spending as much time as possible fishing with her husband (David) ,watching her

hummingbirds, feeding the birds with the bird feeders around the house, and tending to her

yellow and pink roses.

She is survived by her husband (David Mitchell), her children ( Collin Trahan, Haleigh

Broussard, and Bailey Broussard), step-children ( Kandy Angel and Nick Mitchell),

grandchildren (JJ Harris, Bella Broussard, Joseph Trahan, Madisyn and Matthyu Angel, Archer

and Kalliope Mitchell), her parents (Donald and Brenda Primeaux), her siblings (Dwayne,

Donnie, and Jacques (Jackie) Primeaux, as well as close family friends (Laurie and Shawn

Villejoin).

Preceded in death by her brother Robert “Bobby” Primeaux.
