

Vickey Thrash, age 69, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Vickey was born October 14, 1956, in Bossier City, Louisiana to Julius Shepherd Green, Sr. and Mildred Bernice Tillery Green.
Vickey dedicated many years to the field of education, teaching for 19 years at Airline High School. She later served 7 years as an assistant principal before becoming principal of Benton High School, a role she held for 3 years. Throughout her career, she was honored for her excellence and commitment, receiving both Teacher of the Year and Principal of the Year awards. “Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger.’
She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and warm spirit. Vickey was an avid reader who loved to travel, especially to the beach. She found great joy in cooking for her family and was her children’s biggest cheerleader, always encouraging and supporting them in all they did. She was lovingly known as “Sassy” by her grandchildren, a title she cherished deeply.
Vickey fought cancer valiantly for over a year, demonstrating remarkable strength and faith throughout her journey. Above all, her greatest desire was that others would see Christ in her life, a reflection of the love and grace she carried each day.
James 1:12 “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”
Vickey is survived by her son Joshua Forrest, his children Schuyler Heflin and Caid Heflin; daughter, Whitney Clark, husband Jarrod and their children Olivia Clark and Audrey Clark; brother Ronnie Green; sister-in-law, Diane Green; sister, Betty Collins along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Mildred “Mickey” Green and Julius Shepherd Green, and brother, Julius “Butch” Green, Jr.
A visitation for Vickey will be Monday, April 20, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Airline Baptist Church, 4007 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana 71111. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Airline Baptist Church with Luke Allen officiating and Reynolds Moore reading the Eulogy.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Clark, Stacy Roge, Brian France, Scott Carroway, Tim Cram, Barry Plunkett, and Mitch Downey.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Cancer Research.
