

A celebration of life service for Wanda Rone will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Wanda’s brother-in-law, Pastor James Phillips will be officiating the service. Visitation will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Wanda was born to TL Clarke and Ruth Hazel Bowman Clarke, November 9, 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Wanda wed Billy Ray Phillips on October 17, 1956. She worked in a plethora of jobs including the oil field, professional truck driving, being an amazing daughter, sister, momma and Nanny. She made everyone she met feel special and her energizing personality welcomed people into her life.
She was an active member of West Lake Baptist Church in Doyline and enjoyed singing and worshipping with her church family. Wanda’s many hobbies included traveling with her husband, Larry, spending time with her family, and loving her dogs.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, TL Clarke of Shreveport, Louisiana and Ruth Hazel Bowman Clarke of Emerson, Arkansas; first husband, Billy Ray Phillips Sr.; husband, Larry Rone; brothers, A.C. Clarke, Tommy Clarke, and Ronnie Clarke, and her granddaughter Rachel Boiles.
She is survived by her brother, Larry Don Clarke and wife, Toni, of Fleetwood, North Carolina; sister, Mary Ruth Lewis and husband, Mike, of Shreveport, Louisiana; sister Libby Strozier and husband Teddy, of Bossier City, Louisiana; daughter, Cindy Gillentine and husband Weldon of Cotton Valley, Louisiana; son, Billy Ray Phillips Jr. and wife Maureen of Lake Worth, Florida; daughter, Sherri Boudreau and husband Robert of Ringgold, Louisiana; daughter, Holly Phillips of Sulphur Springs, Texas; step-daughter, Amanda Rone Chamberlain of Bossier City, Louisiana, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-grandson on the way.
Pallbearers will be Weldon Gillentine Jr., Joseph Gillentine, Darrek Lee, Joshua Boiles, Justin Boiles, and Nathaniel Gillentine.
Honorary pallbearers include Gavin and Dalton Gillentine.
Memorials in her honor can be made to Shriners Hospital and St. Jude’s Hospital.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at University Health Surgical ICU and the entire staff at LifeCare Willis Knighton Pierremont for the love and compassion they have shown our family during her journey home.
