Waneita Whitmore

Doyline, LA

Waneita Whitmore joined her beloved husband, Kenneth Whitmore (passed over October 2, 2003) and her Savior, Jesus Christ on June 30, 2011 at the age of 91 years. She was born October 3, 1919 and was one of six sisters, with one surviving: Helen O’Connor of Florida.

She is survived by her children: Jim (son) and Nancy Whitmore of Colorado, Dennis (son) and Diane Whitmore of Haughton, and Kris (daughter) and George Liles of Doyline; eleven grandchildren: Wayne, Clifford, Danny, Dawn, Lorie, Stacy, Jason, Ryan, Zack, Michael and Katherine; and fourteen great grandchildren.

She worked for Civil Services at Barksdale Air Force Base from 1957 to 1975 and continued in later years as a volunteer in Col. Depyssler’s office. She was the organist for Sibley Missionary Baptist church and more recent years was the organist at Westlake Baptist in Doyline. She passed quietly from “faith” to “sight” in her daughter’s home in Doyline, Louisiana.

Viewing will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton, Louisiana on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Westlake Baptist Cemetery in Doyline, Louisiana on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 2:00 PM.
