Wayne T. Alexander

PANAMA CITY, FL - Wayne T. Alexander, 86, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, May 1st, 2015. Mr. Alexander resided in Panama City Beach, FL. He was born on January 25th, 1929 to Finus and Gertrude Alexander in Farmerville, LA. He was raised and attended school in Gurdon, Arkansas. Following high school, Mr. Alexander joined the U.S. Navy where he served our country for 23 years, including working with the National Security Agency. After receiving many awards and commendations throughout his military career, he retired in 1970 as Chief Petty Officer and moved to Bossier City, LA. Mr. Alexander then began a second career in Security Services for many years. He and his wife Dean relocated to Naples, FL in 1989, and then to Panama City Beach, FL in 2002.

Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Willia Dean (Gaither) Alexander, originally from Arkadelphia, Arkansas; his brother, Bill Alexander of Metairie, LA; and his son-in-law Stephen Means of Panama City Beach, FL. He is survived by his brother Bob Alexander of Boynton Beach, FL, five children; Pam Maxey and her husband Bill of Savannah, GA, David Alexander and his wife Suzanne of Germantown, MD, Debra Dudley of Naples, FL, Karen Sanders and her husband Peter of Canton, GA, and Sandy Means of Panama City Beach, FL. Also left to cherish his memory are his 15 grandchildren; Lori, Scott, Matthew, Brandon, Jonathan, Jennifer, Ashley, Nicholas, Kara, Chloe, Luke, Evan, Bradley, Sydney, and Camryn; thirteen great grandchildren; Brandon, Andrew, Joshua, Kaylee, Ashley, Tyler, William, Annely Blake, Henry, Louis, Brittany, Brooke, and Sophia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Alexander will be held at 10am on Saturday, May 9th, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, LA. Visitation will precede the service at 9am and a grave side burial ceremony will follow at Hill Crest Park.
