Wenshu's story began in Taiwan, where fate brought her together with the love of her life, Oscar S. Villar, while he was serving in the U. S. Air Force. Their marriage marked the beginning of a beautiful journey that crossed oceans and spanned decades. For 59 and a half years, Wenshu and Oscar shared life's adventures side by side until his passing, their love and devotion an inspiration to all who knew them.
Together they built a life in the United States, raising six sons who became the heart of her world. Even during the many times Oscar was away on military duty, Wenshu's strength, devotion, and love kept the family thriving. Becoming a U. S. citizen was a milestone she was deeply proud of, as she embraced her new home while cherishing her Taiwanese heritage. Whether in Upstate New York or Louisiana, she created a home full of love, laughter, and tradition.
Wenshu's caring heart extended far beyond her own family. She devoted her time to welcoming and guiding other women who were new to the United States, helping them adjust to a new culture with kindness and compassion. She had a gift for making people feel at home, no matter where they came from. Creative and full of life, Wenshu loved sewing, ceramics, knitting, and crocheting. She also found joy in simple pleasures-bowling with friends, tending her garden, and preparing delicious meals that always brought her family together. Her table was never just about food; it was about connection, laughter, and love.
Those who knew Wenshu will remember her warmth, generosity, and quiet strength. Her spirit continues to live on in the love of her family, the traditions she passed down and the countless joyful memories she created.
Wenshu was preceded in death by her cherished spouse, Oscar S. Villar, and her beloved sons, Benjamin Villar and Christopher Villar. She is survived by her children, Oscar V. Villar, Wayne Villar, Nathan Villar, and Findlay Jay Villar, who carry forward her spirit and the lessons she imparted.
Her legacy extends beyond her children to her grandchildren—Kristina Smith, Derek Villar, Chelsea Villar, Andrea Billot, Denise Poole, Suzanne Villar, Christopher Villar, and Oscar A. Villar—each of whom brought her immense pride and joy. Wenshu was also a devoted great-grandmother to Dominic Billot, Hans Billot, Jaxon Smith, Kaydence Smith, Gavin Smith, Kolson Smith, Declan Poole, Abigail Poole, and Charlotte Villar. The love she had for her family was evident in every moment spent with them, and her memory will be a guiding light for future generations.
