

William Lacy McVey, 79, also known as “Bill” or “Mac” passed away on April 2, 2014 in Bossier City, LA. Bill was born in Winnsboro, LA on August 23, 1934. He graduated from Byrd High School and attended LA Tech in Ruston. After moving to Lake Bistineau in 1968, he enjoyed raising Appaloosa horses, restoring antique cars, hunting and fishing. Bill was employed at the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant for 37 years. After retiring, he volunteered at Bryd High School Alumni Office for 18 years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Fred McVey; his mother, Rena Grace Clem; his wife of 42 years, Sylvia “Petie” McVey; his second wife of 18 years ,Lee Hale McVey; brother, Jerry McVey; sister, Judy McVey Nelson; son, Roger Hale, Sr. and grandson, Matthew Dillon McVey.
Bill is survived by three sons, Bruce L. (Butch) McVey of Shreveport, LA, Russell C. McVey and his wife Danielle of Lake Bistineau and Jerry Hale and his wife Mary Alice of Breaux Bridge, LA; his sister, Janet McVey Gibson; twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a special family member, Lee Anna Brown.
Visitation will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, Friday, April 4, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Hill Crest Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.
