William Gerald Olson, age 86, of Bossier City, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023. He was born in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on June 30, 1937 to parents, Arthur M Olson and Elsie M Weaver Olson.
William Olson was a devout husband and loving father and grandfather. His words of advice are to be fair, be honest and respect others as you wish to be respected. He was described as a “do as I do” leader. He believed in his Savior Jesus Christ and expressed we are all uniquely and wonderfully made by Our Heavenly Father, and had a beautiful servant's heart. He spent his life loving and providing for his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family was always in his thoughts and prayers. No matter what happened he was there to give advice. He was an example of strong work ethic and loved America. Bill was blessed with 4 children, 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
William served his country devoutly in the U. S. Air Force, where he served for 22 years having achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. During his service to the country, he was deployed to Vietnam, Germany, Okinawa Guam, North Carolina, Arkansas, Alabama, Texas, and also Louisiana. He then entered the Postal service for 20 years. His Patriotism never faltered. He strongly believes in the Constitution.
Visitation for Bill will be held September 29, 2023, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home from 1:00 pm to 2:00 PM, followed by services at Hill Crest Chapel and Memorial Park at 2:00 PM.
