

Tom was born to Willie and Pearl Steelman on June 28, 1939, in Richland, TX. He graduated from Mildred High School, in Mildred, TX in 1958.
Mr. Steelman had a 45 year career in the lumber business. He worked for Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Company in: Winnsboro, TX, Alamogordo, NM, Sulphur Springs, TX, McKinney, TX, and ultimately retired as General Manager in Denton, TX. Tom worked 38 years with Foxworth-Galbraith.
Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially creating laughter. He was a member of Lake Highlands Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, TX. He had been a member of the Lions Club and the Rotary Club as well as the North Texas Lumberman’s Association where he twice served as President.
Mr. Steelman was preceded in death by: father, Willie H. Steelman; mother, Sonoma Pearl Farmer Steelman Griffin; brothers, Herschel Steelman, Randall Steelman, Charles Steelman, and Wayne Faulkner; sisters, Vivian Miller, Helen Bain; daughter, Suzanne Steelman; and son, Steven Steelman.
Tom is survived by: wife of 43 years, Diane Cook Steelman, of Bossier City, LA; son Brad Alan Steelman, of Plano, TX; step-son, Christopher (& Cory) Worrell, of Wade, NC; step-daughter, Janis (& Johan) Svensson, of Lakeland, TN; grandsons, Jacob Worrell, Caleb Svensson; granddaughter, Alix (& Camryn) Strickland; great-granddaughter, Andi Strickland; along with many nieces and nephews.
