Jon was a sweet soul who will forever be in my heart.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Dorf family. I will always look back fondly at the time I spent with Jon as a roommate, musical partner and friend in College Park, MD.

To the Friends and Family of Jon Dorf,
I am deeply saddened to hear this news. Jon was an amazing person and had a huge impact on me as a chef when I was very young. I was fortunate to work with Jon and Anne for over a year and the memories I have with me are nothing but the finest. Jons' influence on me was paramount to my success in the restaurant industry. Since he trained me I have traveled the globe and have worked in the best restaurants in the world. He will be truly missed and my deepest condolences go out to his family.

I knew chef Jon for a very short while, he and my dad did business together in the fish industry. I lost my father 9 months ago to the day the same way. It was a sudden tragedy in his sleep. I met chef Jon after i took over my fathers business. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met. He gave me opportunity and was so sympathetic to me being new to the business. He had such a bright side. I am truly at loss for words to what happened. May He rest in peace in the hands of God. I will never forget how he treated me, different then other chefs did. He was a great man, and im sure a great father as well. My thoughts and prayers are with up you.

The news of Jon's passing came as a such a shock. I have only great memories of him: a passionate and talented chef (the quantity of food he provided to me at Santa Fe Cafe was matched by the quality of food at Lime), a great musician and music fan, and all around terrific guy. He will be missed and my wife and I send our deepest condolences to your entire family.
