
Marcia was born March 5, 1930, in the Bronx, NY to Anna and Leon Nozick. At the age of 21 she married Howard Spitz on February 17, 1951 in the Bronx, NY. Over the course of the next sixty years, she raised three children and lived in Westchester County most of her adult life. In 2012 she moved to New York City to be closer to family and medical care. She was a homemaker for much of her life but also worked for over a decade in the Westchester County Family Court System in White Plains, NY.
Marcia attended Temple with close friends or family as Jewish spirituality and traditions were always important to her. The joy of her life was being with her family, children, and four grandchildren at home, on holidays or when traveling on vacation.
She is survived by three children, Leslie Silver (Lawrence Geneen) of New York City, Debra Kirkley (Kara Carthel) of Seattle, Washington, and Cliff Spitz (Diane) of Reston, Virginia; a sister, Dorothy Pardes, brother Bernard Nozick; four grandchildren; Carly, Daniel, Leah, and Max and many wonderful nephews and nieces.
A chapel service will be held at Riverside Memorial Chapel 21 Broad St. W in Mt Vernon, NY. Thursday at 10:00am. Interment will be held afterwards at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Jackson Ave/ Saw Mill River Road in Hastings –on Hudson, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association in New York City.
