Dolores Mensinga

Dolores Lorraine Mensinga was born February 18, 1926 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Ignatz and Frieda (Fenger) Korzik. She graduated from high school in Chicago and went to work at a plastic factory. On July 14, 1946 Dolores was joined in marriage to Ernest Arthur Mensinga. Dolores continued working with Standard Rate and Data Service as an office worker for several years. Dolores and Ernest moved to Hayward, WI in 1977 and operated Sun N’ Snow Resort on Round Lake. Dolores then took a job a Hayward Area Memorial Hospital in the medical records department where she worked for 18 years. Dolores was an avid card player with her Moose Lake ladies group and enjoyed crocheting, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dolores is survived by her four children, Bill Mensinga of Northbrook, IL, Linda (Greg) Achtor of Hayward, WI, Tom Mensinga of Dayton, OH, Donn (Ginger) Mensinga of Cincinnati, OH; seven grandchildren, Brian, Steven, Chris, Kim, Jonathan, Jennifer and Michael; six great grandchildren, Athan, Ryland, Maddox, Easton, Colt and Addilyn; one sister, Dorothy (Bill) Gerdisch of Chicago, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by his parents; husband, Ernest and one brother, Larry Korzik.

There will be a memorial service Monday, July 9, at 7:00 p.m., at the Anderson-Nathan-Koerpel Funeral Home in Hayward. There will be a visitation before the service from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to Hayward Sports Center or Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.
