Al was born in Chicago, Ill. on July 6, 1933. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was soon commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Aviation Cadet program. He was trained as a navigator, and then went on to Pilot Training. He piloted the HH-43 in the Air Force Rescue Command. After the Air Force he employed, as a Pilot by United Airlines for 27 years. Al's greatest passion was golf. He traveled all over the world to play. He especially loved playing golf in Hawaii. Al is loved by many family and friends.
