Alex was baptized into the Christian faith shortly after he was born. Through Baptism the Holy Spirit created faith in Jesus in young Alex, clothed him with Christ's own righteousness and made him a treasured member of God's family of grace.
Alex spent his short life in the Temecula area. His parents separated when Alex was four years old, and Alex and Katie lived with their mother, Lisa, who is a teacher in the Lake Elsinore School District.
Alex was involved in activities outside of school. He played baseball and soccer, and swam and jogged. He recently swam fifty-one laps as part of a swim team fundraiser. Alex also enjoyed playing video games with his father and watching movies with his mother and Katie.
Alex had a special exuberance for life. Besides the activities in which he participated, he enjoyed talking with people of all ages. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and talk about any subject. He had a special bond with his mother and with his sister Katie, whom he loved to tease, but of whom he was fiercely protective and very proud.
Alex had a strong, simple trust in Jesus that was a model to all of us. He enjoyed attending church services at Christ the Vine, and he usually commented on the sermon as he left church, showing that he was listening carefully. He also enjoyed asking the pastor questions, not to "stump" him, but to deepen his own understanding and faith.
Alex passed away in his sleep on the morning of June 18, 2014. He leaves to mourn his passing: his mother Lisa Stute; his father Nicholas Kardouche; his sister Katie; his maternal grandmother Phyllis Stute; his paternal grandmother Irene Egeroff; other relatives; and the many friends he made in his brief time here on earth. While we deeply mourn his passing, we look forward to a joyful reunion before the throne of God in the glories of heaven.
