

Alice Roberts was born in Washington, North Carolina on Thursday, September 11, 1924. she was the last baby girl born to Lizzie Yarrell Brown and Pastor William R. Brown. She was brought up in a Christian home.
Alice attended Mother of Mercy Catholic School until high school, she graduated from Washington High School and then graduated from Elizabeth State College. She also attended the University of Delaware. She is the last of eleven children from this union, the youngest child was her brother, Toby, who was about one year younger than herself.
In her life she believed in on God, she was baptized in the Catholic Church and the non-denominational Church of the Disciples. After her first marriage ended, she joined the Church of "God in Christ" and in February 2010 she re-entered the Catholic Church.
Alice married Judge Roberts Sr. many many years ago, from this marriage they had four children, Judge Jr., Carol, Reginald and Diane. Cheryl and Yvette are children from her first marriage.
She is survived by her children, 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, godson Bob McGuire and many relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; her son, Judge Jr.; all of her siblings, 6 brothers and 3 sisters; and her firstborn grandson, Derrick, who passed in 1992.
Alice loved the Lord, her family, people, babies, children and life itself. She told Cheryl about one year ago that she'd had a good life and that if God called her, she was ready.
