Amy Lou Engel, 87 of Hemet, California passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 in San Marcos, CA. She was born on Thursday, July 12, 1928 in Pine River, Minnesota, to the late Clarence Heath and Hilda Saxvold Heath. Amy is survived by her son David (Marti) Engel of San Marcos, CA, granddaughter, Hannah Engel, grandson, Sam Engel, and brother, David (Diane) Heath of Nisswa, MN.
Amy Lou was loving mother and grandmother. She was also a devoted wife to her late husband, LeRoy Engel. She loved to entertain and have friends and family over to the house to cook for them. She was also known to play a game of cards now and again. Amy was also very involved with her church where she was instrumental in keeping the Lutheran Braille Workers Organization active in Hemet. She received special recognition by the California State Assembly for her tireless efforts.
Amy Lou was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
