JULY 20, 1930 – MARCH 9, 2024
Anneliese Almeras was born July 20, 1930 in Hamburg, Germany, and passed away on March 9, 2024 in Hemet, California. Anneliese immigrated to the United States in 1952, sailing across the Atlantic with her first husband and her first two children, Rudy and Angie, to join her parents Peter and Angela Reul and her sister Gerda, who were already in the U.S. The family lived in Maine and New York and then moved across the country to sunny Hemet, California to join other family in 1962. Anneliese resided in Hemet for 62 years.
Anneliese worked in the restaurant business as an owner, cook and server in Hemet for 40+ years. She had her own café at the Hemet Ryan Airport and worked alongside her sister Gerda and brother-in-law Hans Jaeppelt at The Anchor for many years. In retirement she made wreaths at Christmas time and sold them around town in her red coat and hat becoming known as “The Wreath Lady”. She was always busy working, cooking, cleaning, swimming, gardening, dancing, reading, and traveling. She loved a cold beer, German music and being outside soaking up the sun by the pool. Her home and yard were always full of flowers and plants and she loved having flowers around her right up until the day of her passing. Anneliese met Johnny Almeras in 1986 and they married in 1987. They enjoyed traveling and companionship together, but sadly Johnny passed away a few years later.
Anneliese is survived by three children Rudy Boll, Angie Timmons and Hilda Ryniker; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, 3 nieces, and many other loving family members and friends. Anneliese’s deceased children are Hans Boll, Henry Boll and Erika Clover.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends at McWane Family Funeral Home located at 350 N. San Jacinto Street, Hemet, CA on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 1pm.
