Anthony Dominick Berardino went to be with the Lord August 13, 2014 at the age of 89. First generation American, Tony was born November 5, 1924 in Trinidad, Colorado to Pietro and Josephina Berardino, who migrated from Italy in early 1900. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII, taking part in the Invasion on Normandy, Battle of the Bulge in Ardennes, Battle of Rhineland and also fought in Northern France and Central Europe. After leaving the service, Tony moved to Southern California. He was a plumber by trade for 50 years until retiring to Temecula in 1986 with his wife, Darlene. Tony wasn't one to do nothing so he went to work with family at Fortner Hardware in Temecula, where he was fondly called "Sr." He enjoyed his customers and was known as the guy who knew something about everything and could fix just about anything. Locals would come in and ask just for him. Tony is survived by his wife of 30 years, Darlene, two children, son Anthony (Tony) Berardino and wife Lisa of Temecula and daughter Sheri Epperson and husband Roger, of Temecula and two grandchildren, Spenser Epperson of Temecula and Katie Epperson of New York. His family will miss his constant teasing, his wonderful stories and most of all, his contagious laughs and smiles. A private family service will be held at Rverside National Cemetary on August 28th. Remembrance donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org
