Armando “Mundy” Anzures was born May 3, 1933 in Contreras, New Mexico. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He went to be with the Lord early Wednesday, September 9, 2020. He passed peacefully in his home, in Sun City, California, surrounded by his loving family. His wife, Ferminia Anzures, was by his bedside.
Armando, known to many as “Uncle Mundy,” lived in New Mexico until about 1962. He then moved to Perris, California where he established his family and career. His career with Knox Seed Company, defined his life as a hard worker and a go getter, working as a Landscaper until he was 84 years old. He was the head of his family, on “The Ranch,” where everyone who walked in the door was treated like family and followed his rules. It was his world, we all just lived in it.
He loved to party with family, going to casinos, playing card, horseshoes, pool, and corn hole. You couldn’t miss him at the party, with his hat, sunglasses, and his button of his grandson Andy. Andy was his pride and joy, more like a son than grandson, he was proud of his service to our country in the Army and always wore his button. He also enjoyed to hike and travel, he made sure to visit his family in New Mexico at least once a year. He liked to go camping with the Anzures family, every Labor Day weekend.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Modesto and Benita Anzures, seven brothers and four sisters. He was the last family member to pass.
Armando is survived by his loving wife, Ferminia Anzures, Sons Armando Anzures, Jr. (Rose), Patrick Anzures and Roland Anzures, Daughters, Bernadette “Sandy” Macias, Theresa “Chica” Anzures-Apodaca (Larry), Kathy Anzures. Fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.
