Barbara Jean Cannon

Barbara Cannon of Hemet, California, passed away on July 10, 2019 at her home after a two year battle with cancer. She was born in Herrin, Illinois in November of 1929 and left with her husband Harold and their three children, Cheryl, Gary, and John for California in 1961. In California, Barbara was active with her children’s P.T.A. and eventually went on to work for and retire from the Otay Water Company in Spring Valley, California. After retirement, Barbara and her husband moved to Hemet and were active in the Rovers RV club and the Elks Club. Barbara and Harold enjoyed many wonderful trips around the country with friends in RV Rovers. Barbara was an active member and volunteer at the Crossroads Baptist Church of Hemet. In addition to helping others through her church, Barbara particularly enjoyed attending her annual high school reunions in Herrin, Illinois with the last visit occurring just last October. Her husband, Harold, preceded her in death in 2011 and she leaves behind her three children in San Diego, along with three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the crossroads Baptist Church of Hemet, or the American Cancer Society. Graveside services and interment will be held at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, date and time are pending.
