Beatrice "Bea" Beal of Hemet CA, passed away at home on March 25, 2012. The Seven Hills resident was born in Blockton, Iowa and has lived in Hemet since 1980. She said she had a " very rewarding" career as a teacher of kindergarten and first and second grade in Diagonal, Iowa. She later worked for the materials division of Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach. Mrs. Beal was married to Paul Beal for 38 years before he died in 1983. She counts meeting and marrying him as the greatest moment of her life. She said she most remembers from her youth fun times with friends, as well as " riding the train from a small town in Iowa to Des Moines for teacher conferences and shopping". Her hobbies have included golf, painting, traveling. and she attributes her longevity to good, healthy living and staying busy. Her advice to others who would like to live a long life? " Eat your vegetables, but not squash!" adding: " I also like chocolate." Surviving is her life long friend Patricia Mitchell, husband Gordon, from Omaha NE, preceded in death are her husband Paul Beal, brothers Rufus, Milo, Earl and sister Mae.
