Billie Joyce Hunter passed away at the age of 87, on Sunday, September 4, 2022, in Hemet, California. She was born to Joseph Jefferson and Beatrice (Balch) Jefferson, on Wednesday, July 24, 1935, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and she was one of three children.
Billie’s education began in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She graduated in 1953 from Peake High School. After moving to California. Billie continued her education at El Camino College in Torrance, California, taking numerous Dietary Nutritional Courses. She was an exceptional student and received a Certificate of Completion as a Dietetic Assistant.
Billie spent more than 40 years working in the Food Service Field. She worked as a Dietetic Assistant/Supervisor at Bay Harbor Hospital for 21 years. During that time, she continued to further her education by attending seminars and conferences. Billie received several accommodations for excellence in her field.
Billie was a unique and dedicated mother. She was blessed with three children that would later make Billie a grandmother as well. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, listening to Luther Vandross, eating out and spending time with her family.
Billie was a vibrant and phenomenal woman who served as a pillar of strength for others. She always had a smile for everyone she met. Her love for her family was immeasurable. Her loving friends will miss her.
Billie will be missed, but not forgotten by her loving children, Billy Carr, Jeffery Hunter, and Angela Gardner; her grandchildren, Billy, Deven, Brandon, Brian, Ashely, Eric, Dominique, and Kentrell. Her great-grandchildren & nieces and nephews. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Beatrice Jefferson; her beloved brother, William Allen Jefferson; and her sister, Tennie Marie Martin.
