Blanche E. Hood, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at her home. She was born January 25, 1921, at Onieda, AR, the daughter of Emery A. Brown and Nellie E. (McNeal) Brown. She was married to Ephraim D. Hood and was preceded in death by her, husband; parents; and her brother Joseph.
Blanche graduated from Topeka High School, in Topeka, KS, and attended Emporia State Teachers College. She taught at several elementary schools in the Topeka Public School System. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she served in many offices and was a member of the Eastern Star serving as Past Worthy Matron of Myra Chapter 5 in Topeka KS.
She leaves to mourn her loss, a son Reginald and daughter Gloria, four grandchildren; three brothers, Emery, New York, NY; James, San Bernardino, CA; and Willie, Torrance, CA; and a host relatives and friends.
