Bonnie Christensen, 71, of Temecula, California, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. She was born Friday, September 27, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Edwin Bish and the late Opal Jackson Bish. Bonnie was the wife of Albert Christensen for over 50 years. She served in the Navy for two years, spending an exciting time in Washington DC and also in the photographer's core in Pensacola, FL. Bonnie played the violin; she played in the orchestra at school as well as a season with the Richmond Symphony. She later also taught students. She had a passion for learning and earned an Associate's Degree in English while raising three children. She was an active band booster when her children were young, directed the attached units for their junior high, and also designed and created period costumes for the 1976 bicentennial celebration. One of her passions was knitting and crocheting blankets to give as gifts of love and care. She and Albert loved adventures, camping, and hiking with their family. On one trip to Mt. Lassen, the family was on a hike to the top when they came upon a cloud of thousands of butterflies on the mountain side. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and was the highlight of the hike. Bonnie and Albert lived for a time in Hawaii, where they enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren and exploring Oahu. She is survived by her husband, Albert, daughters, Vickie and Sheryl, son, Donald, sister, Juanita, brother, Edwin, and grandchildren, Jennifer, Alex, and Bruce.
