

Cedric Devon Kirksey was born March 8, 1964 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Woody and Reola Kirksey. Seeking a better life Woody and Reola moved their family to California.Through this union they were blessed with a second son they named Anthony. Cedric and Anthony immediately formed a bond that would last a lifetime. Cedric went to Inglewood High School where he joined the football team and graduated in 1982. He worked at Kaiser Permanente up until he was faced with some health challenges. He did not let that stop him from cracking jokes and making everyone around him laugh to no end. It was never a dull moment when you were in his presence. Cedric had a love for football and music. On any given Sunday he would be right in front of the TV watching football and yelling at the referees when they would make a bad call. Cedric listened to a wide variety of music genres. He had a love for music. His favorite artist was Elvis Presley. He loved Elvis so much that he sung “Blue Suede Shoes” in the talent show when he attended 32nd Street Elementary School. He would reminisce at times and talk about how mom would cook spaghetti and garlic bread before taking them to the movies every Saturday when they were younger. He would always praise his mom for taking such good care of them. As Cedric battled with his illness, he endured physical challenges. He maintained his unwavering faith. On Thursday, April 15, God called Cedric to his eternal home in Heaven. Cedric leaves to cherish his loving memories, his devoted mother Reola; his father Woody; his brother Anthony; sister Wonetta; nephew Dwayne, and host of aunts, one uncle, cousins, and best friends Dave and Sam.
