Charlene East Lykins

Charlene East was born on May 5, 1925 in Caddo, Oklahoma, to Charley East and Nona McGuire East. She departed this Earth on June 16, 2014 in Hemet, California at the age of 91, near her children. In August, 1946 she married Chuck Thomas, and to this union 2 children were born. In 1958 she married Carl Lykins, and 2 more children were born.

Charlene was one of the last remaining Rosie The Riveters from WW ll. She worked in the restaurant business most of her life. That's where she met both of her husbands.

Charlene was preceded in death by both of her parents, Charley and step-mother Annie East, and Nona and step-father Boyd McGuire. She was also preceded by her brothers JC East, Jack East, Robert McGuire, Doyle East, Daryl East, Charley East, and sister Sarah McDaniel, and 1 grandchild, and 1 great grandchild.

She is survived by her children, Sandra and Ed Burton, and Phillip Thomas of California, Carla and David Denton, Missouri, and Rick and Gladys Lykins of South Carolina. She also has 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren with one on the way.

Charlene has been cremated, and there will be a memorial service on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 10 a.m. in Wapanucka, Oklahoma at Rose Hill Cemetery next to her mother and brother.
