Darrell Gene Tiffin

After a lengthy struggle with dementia, Darrell Gene Tiffin passed away on September 18, 2023 in Riverside, California. He was born on March 1, 1948 in Maud, Oklahoma to his parents, Rolland and Erma Tiffin. Darrell started to attend college, was drafted into the US Army where he served in Korea as an SP5. After his honorable discharge in 1970, he began a job in a finance company in Whittier, California where he met the love of his life, Sandy. They married on January 8, 1971 at the Orange County Courthouse. Darrell and Sandy had four children and Darrell was a loving husband and dedicated father. He worked many long hours to provide for his family and spent most of his career working for large home building companies. One of his many responsibilities included managing the Oasis Country Club in Palm Desert, California. When Darrell retired in 2007, he was Vice President of Finance for D.R. Horton, America’s Homebuilder. After retiring, Darrell enjoyed golf, bowling, travel, and collecting coins. He was a kind and caring man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Rolland and Erma Tiffin. Darrell is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandy, his four children, Bryan and Melissa Tiffin, Kim and Rick Nelson, Richard and Vicki Tiffin, and Michael and Lauren Tiffin, and his brother, Larry and wife, Mollie Tiffin. Darrell was blessed to have ten grandchildren: Grant, Jacob, Kayla, Ashley, Krista, Lauren, Kyle, Allyson, Zachary, and Ryan; and also one great grandson, Dawson Richard. A graveside service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on November 28, 2023 at 10:00am.
