

Dean Edward Powelson, Sr., of Temecula, California Entered Eternal Rest on July 14, 2015.
Dean was born October 1, in Akron, Ohio, He was the son of the late Zoid Powelson and the late Evelyn Alcorne Powelson.
Dean, along with his parents and sister Patricia, moved from Akron, Ohio to Long Beach, California. Dean attended Lakewood Jr. High and Woodrow Wilson High School. He played minor league baseball and went on to Jr. College before beginning work at Rockwell Aerospace and later relocating to Anaheim, California with Rockwell Aerospace.
While residing in Orange, California, he had two beautiful children: Dean Edward Powelson, Jr,, and Lisa Dianne Powelson-Flores. After working at Rockwell for over 18 years he moved to Temecula, California. While living in Temecula, he worked at ACS which later became Guidant for over 16 years until he retired in 2001.
Dean was always humble and known for his intelligence, bravery, and loving personality. He was a hard worker, working on the yard and always thinking of ways to help other people. While he lived in Orange, he belonged to the Rockwell Golf Club; and enjoyed coaching Little League when his son played.
Dean was known for his love of baseball and golf, but he was also known for his love to repair things and his craftsmanship in creating and building different woodworking projects. On the weekends you could find him taking bike rides, watching and playing golf and enjoying Claim Jumpers Restaurant. His favorite saying was "Whoops, honey, toots, honey bunny."
He loved family gatherings and always enjoyed Thanksgiving, Loraine's good food, and the music and lights of Christmas. Family has always been important to Dean, and he enjoyed driving up the coast to his favorite vacation spot in Carmel and the Monterey Bay. Dean lived the last 6 years enjoying life with his fiance Loraine. She was the light of his life, an amazing loving companion.
Dean is survived by his fiance, Loraine Winston; son, Dean Edward Powelson, Jr,; daughter, Lisa Dianne Powelson-Flores; sister, Patricia May Stanton; grandson, David Earle Flores; granddaughter, Melissa Dianne Flores; cousins, Don Parsons, and Pamela Elizabeth Parsons.
A Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Friday at Temecula United Methodist Church located at 42690 Margarita Rd Temecula, California 92592.
