Karen,
All of us from the Whisner family send our condolences, love, and prayers with you during this tough time. We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear this news. From all the times I had the pleasure to visit with Don, I immediately knew what a great man, husband, father, and grandfather he was. He always had a smile on his face and had a great sense of humor. I always could tell that he was completely devoted to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.

Auntie Karen,
I've had so much fun with Uncle Don and you and I am very sad to see him go.
 Most of my memories are of him teaching me how to fish! Uncle Don was my favorite person to fish with just because he enjoyed teaching me. I am extremely glad that he got to pass on his fishing passion down to me!
 I also really enjoyed taking trips with you guys to Yellowstone and Shaver Lake. I remember we used to fight over who got to ride in your car! It was always fun taking long trips in your car just because Uncle Don always had something for us to do, whether it was being the first to find a Jackalope (which for some reason always lasted an unusually long time!), or finding something a little more common, like a Moose for five bucks.
 I will never forget my Uncle Don for the rest of my life and things that he taught me!

Karen,
 Like everyone else has already said, Don was always a joy to be around. I am grateful for the few times that I got to visit with him and I had a wonderful time when we went out to Palm Springs with you both.
 I love you and am praying that the Good Lord comforts you in the days ahead.

Uncle Don was an amazing person!!
 I will always remember his funny personality. I remember when he and Auntie Karen would come with us to Shaver Lake and stay with us in one cabin. He would always be making jokes. He loved to take us fishing when we were together. When we came to his house, we would go to the pool and he would tell all the kids to start from one end of the pool and race to the other side and whoever won would get a certain amount of coins. I always had a blast with him and I will always remember him in my thoughts and all of the memories we had together.
Auntie Karen, I know this is a hard time for you and for family but God will be with you through it all. :) He always is. I am praying!! I love you TONS! I can't wait till we see you next.

Uncle Don was an amazing person. I really looked forward to the times we got to see him. I only wish we could have had more of them. He was the kind of person you warm up to instantly, and we always had something in common to talk about. He had an out of control sense of humor and you would find yourself anticipating a joke the moment he entered the room.
I had a great relationship with him, and he was always fascinated to know what I was up to and enjoy a long conversation about it. We both shared an interest in aircraft and aviation, as well as politics, fishing, and much more. I would always have to leave wishing I could have enjoyed his company longer. Now that he's gone, I find myself wishing the same thing.
Karen, I know his loss had a far greater impact on you, and I wish there was something I could do to help. I miss him a lot, but I can't wait to see him again someday. I love you and am praying for you. May God bless you and fill your life with joy.

Dear Karen,
 Dad and I are so sorry that Don is gone and that you will be alone, but we're so glad you found some happy years with someone who loved and cared for you.
 I know you have many good memories to help you thru the hard times.
Don loved to give his Mother-in-law a hard time. If i said something was white, he'd say it was black. We had many friendly arguments, but of course I was always right!
We love you so much, and hope you will spend a lot of time with Dad and I in Idaho.
Dad would have loved to be with you now if traveling wasn't so hard for him.

I am so glad we got to know Don and were able to spend so much time with the two of you over the years. It's especially nice that our kids got to know and love him. I remember the air show we went to at March Air Force Base, and I'm glad he was able to share his passion for flying with my boys.
We had a great time exploring Yellowstone together, fishing at Shaver Lake, going to the God and Country Festival, and so much more. We'll miss him a lot--especially his wisecracks about politics--but I'm glad we crammed in a lot of memories along the way!

 You and Don have been great mentors for me. I've enjoyed all the trips we've taken together and sharing the God and Country Festival with you for the last several years. I always felt a connection with Don since he married into the Harper family and appreciated his sense of humor as one of the "out-laws". :) I look forward to sharing many more fun times with you and reminiscing for years to come! Love you tons.

One of my strongest memories of Uncle Don is when we went on a trip with him and Auntie Karen to Yellowstone. He told us kids that if we found a moose he would give us a dollar. We went on many road trips with Uncle Don and Auntie Karen, and he made those long hours in the car more fun. He was always making jokes and laughing with us. I have lots of great memories with him.

Karen and family - I am so sorry for your loss! Don and Karen took such good care of my Mother - almost impossible to find good neighbors and good friends at the same time! I am so appreciative of all you did for Mom. Don was always happy to jump in and try and fix something so that Mom wouldn't worry about it. Karen, you were always so great to get Don involved so Mom could mark it off her list! By default I made some great new friends as well! Karen, please let me know if there is anything I can do!

Dear Karen and family~ Such a shock that Don is gone! Several of my family from Alaska had the pleasure of being together last November for a family get together~ I always enjoyed Don's sense of humor as well as watching him interact with all the kids, young and old. He was well liked and always able to make us laugh! He was very hospitable and I'm glad my sister found such a good man to share her life with! Love you all~ My thoughts are with you all in the difficult days ahead. Sending much love!

I have known Don for over 50 years! We were roommates and best friends when we served in the Air Force together at Adair Air Force Station in Corvallis, Oregon. I've been trying to track him down for years, and finally was able to find him on May 24th, just a couple of days before he passed away. What a pleasure it was to talk to him on the phone that day! My prayers are with those that he left behind. God Bless you all.

I'm in shock! Your dad was such a rock in all of your lives. I know with all my heart that all of the fond memories will keep you strong. He always had a smile to give me and I'll never forget all the memories of him at all of the family get togethers. Love and prayers to you all.

I am so sorry to hear about Don. Over 30 years ago when Don moved his family two doors down, I was lucky to make friends with Tondra and Carrie and have many wonderful memories growing up with them. Don was a good man, a dood father, and he will be missed by many.

So sorry. Shocked because Don is so energetic, full of energy, always helping with what ever any one needed. Young spirit. Young in my memories. I still think of Don every time it rains because he installed my rain gauge, which like every project of his was installed so good and solid, my house could fall down and that gauge would survive. I just gave Carrie a bunch of pictures when Sam and Josh were kids, so I had just relived those years and Don and Karen were a big part of that time in my life. Lots of great memories. Don was a good man. Karen , do you remember staying at my house and trying to get some morning coffee and my cat jumping out of a close cabinet and scaring you so badly coffee was not needed. Shocked and so sorry to the whole wonderful family. Don was a great Dad, grand dad, friend and husband.

To all the Meyer family, I am so sorry for your loss.Don and I worked together at WESCO Compton 1992 to 95.We had a great time working together and developed a lasting friendship. I wish I could tell Don "thank you" for all the advice and support he gave me in my younger years.He really inspired me to achieve my lifelong goals. He was a great friend and I will truly miss him.

Don and his wife Karen have been a blessing to us in many
 ways. We are old folks and not too well. Don has helped
 us with problems relating to our home and he was always quck
 to provide transportation when we needed it.
We have enjoyed many delicious meals with Don an Karen.
We are greatful in so many ways. We thank God for his help
 for sending us Don and Karen. What good friends they have
 been!
