Dorothy Elaine Clausen

Dorothy Elaine (Bunton)Clausen, 93 of Morongo Valley, California passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018, at home surrounded by family. She was born on Saturday, March 21, 1925 in Mazon, Illinois, and was the daughter of the late Clyde and Myrtle ( Lewins ) Bunton. Dorothy was married to the love of her life , Gerald (Jake) Clausen for over 65 years until he passed away in February 2009. They enjoyed traveling the country with their 5th wheel visiting favorite spots where they would stop and live. Jake and Dorothy would work around the parks and then hit the road for new adventures. They would always make a point to visit family in Illinois. She enjoyed reading along with watching DIY, the cooking channels and especially Hallmark. Her grandchildren were very special to her and she loved baking apple pies while they visited. Her family describes her as soft spoken, family oriented and very competitive when playing games . She was preceded in death by her brother Melvin Bunton(Morris, IL)

Surviving is her sister Darlene Howen(Morris, IL); daughter Janice Olsen (Tucson, AZ); son Kenneth Clausen (Cindy )(Bandon, OR) daughter Rebecca Fowler(Morongo,CA); and son Robert Clausen ( Janet )(Anderson,IN), 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Services will be private
