Douglas Dee Hoover, Sr., 80 of Hemet, California passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015, at Arlington Gardens in Riverside, CA. He was born on Sunday, October 13, 1935 in Quinter, Kansas to Cecil and Rozilla Hoover. Douglas was happily married to the love of his life, Kymber Hoover for 55 wonderful years. Surviving are three children Douglas Dee Hoover Jr., Todd MacRoss Hoover, and Nicole (James) Gray, brother, Brad (Sheila) Hoover, sister, Candice (Bill) Congdon, and two grandchildren, Sydney Gray and James Gray. Douglas was preceded in death by his sister, Luwana Beckley.
Douglas was a family man who loved and supported his family in everything they did. In his social life he was a member of the Elks Lodge for 12 years and attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and in his professional life he was a Senior Vice President at Bank of America for 33 years. But neither of these pursuits compared to the joy he got from being with his family. He was a big supporter of the San Jacinto High School Athletics Department where his daughter, Nicole is a coach. He also loved watching his team, the San Diego Chargers as they tried to bring home a win. Spending quality time with his grandson, James, and taking care of his dog, Beau were among Douglas' favorite things. As the official "neighborhood greeter," Douglas was known and loved by all. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to be made to the San Jacinto High School Triathlon Club. Interment will be held privately at the Mission San Luis Rey Cemetery in Oceanside.
