Edith Maurine Babb, 93 of Porterville, California passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Ramona Manor in Hemet, California. She was born in Mattoon Illinois on February 13th, 1920. Edith was a treasurer and served the Porterville Seventh-day Adventist Church for over 27 years. She gave art lessons out of her home and was an accomplished artist. She wrote poetry and lyrics. Edith played the piano and the harmonica and recently played " Jesus Loves Me ". She also worked as a seamstress and made many dresses and clothes for her friends and family. Edith is described by her family as a blessing to be near, a sweet and caring lady. She was predeceased in death by spouse, Lester Babb. Predeceased in death by one son, Harold Hartmann. She is survived by another son Robert Hartmann who states he, "was proud to be her son, and she was the best mother a son could ever have". Also survived by her children Larry Babb, Marilyn Duncan and Charlotte Mendenhal and a grand daughter Deanna White, along with 15 other grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
