Elizabeth "Libby" Catherine Parsons

Elizabeth "Libby" Catherine (Woodward) Parsons went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 7, 2013. She was born on November 9, 1926. Grew up in Martinsburg, West Virginia as second oldest of ten children. Married December 24, 1947 the only man she ever loved, Samuel G. Parsons and moved to Southern California where they raised their three children. Most of her working years were at Rosemead High School, where she was the executive secretary in the guidance office. Libby held office as a member of the California School Employee Association. She was also a member of the West Valley Bible Church.

Libby & Sam loved camping with the family and they would drive every two years to visit family on the East Coast. She enjoyed cruises and other road trips, as well, after children were grown. Her last road trip of 7,000 miles was in October of 2012. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Samuel G. Parsons.

Libby is survived by her children Glenn Parsons of Monrovia, CA, John Parsons of Kingman AZ, Kathy Bateman of Hemet CA, one brother Jim Woodward of Martinsburg, WV, two sisters Donna Murphy of Myrtle Beach SC, Glenda Zepp of Martinsburg WV. four grandchildren Jeremy Bateman, Jessica Thompson, Sean Parsons & Nathan Parsons, eleven great grandchildren, thirteen nieces and five nephews.
