Emmett Allen

Emmett Lester Allen, born in Minco, OK, December 12, 1932, passed away July 12, 2012 in Hemet, CA. His family moved to Inglewood, CA in 1947 where Emmett attended Inglewood HS. He and his high school sweetheart, Donalee Weeks, married in March of 1952. Emmett worked for North American Aviation and was a veteran of the Korean War. The couple settled in Redondo Beach, CA in 1956 and raised their 3 children. Emmett became a journeyman plumber and opened his own contracting company in 1973. He and Donalee retired in 1993 and moved to Hemet, CA where they became involved in the District 7 Shuffleboard Association. In 1999 they traveled to Yokohama, Japan for an International Tournament. Emmett also enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, the Valley Horseshoe League, dinner dances at the 7 Hills Members Club and helping his neighbors and friends with their plumbing problems. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend. He will be greatly missed.

He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Donalee, daughter Karen Carlson, son Robert Allen, son John and daughter-in-law Karen Allen, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 11:00am at the Hemet United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Miller-Jones Mortuary. Inurnment at Riverside National Cemetery at a later date.
