

Ernest Adolph Medina, passed away August 12, 2012 in Hemet, CA at the age of 85. Born in Ojai, to Adolph and Carmelita (Soto), he had lived in Hemet the last 21 years. Previous residence were in South Gate, Hunting Park and Ventura California. Ernie was a proud veteran of World War II. He served with the U.S. Army Cops during the war in Hawaii and the Philippine Islands. He worked in the trucking business in California and Arizona for many years before retiring in 1986.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Marie (Betty) Boone Medina, his brothers, Leo and Paul Medina, his sisters Stella, Virginia and Hortense and his youngest son, Adolph Medina.
He is survived by his daughter, Dianna Medina Baca and his son Ernest Rios Medina; brother Victor, sister Lilly Gallardo, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his step-children, Michael, Janet and Kenneth Schehl, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
Ernie loved his music. He played the saxophone with different bands throughout the years, both professionally and just for the fun of it! His hobbies included deep-sea fishing and baseball. He was a home run hitter on company teams. Ernie loved the Los Andgeles Dodgers, going to ball games and watching them on television. He supported many charities, especially those for Native American children and veterans.
