

Genovevo "Geno" Pruneda Valdez, 79, of San Jacinto, California passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020, in Hemet, California. He was born on Saturday, January 4, 1941 to his parents, Rosendo and Aniceta Valdez. At the age of 15, Genovevo laid eyes on the love of his life, Mary Ellamay Hernandez. A few years later on July 24, 1959, Genovevo and Mary were married. They spent 61 wonderful years together. They had four beautiful children. Geno was an amazing father and loving husband. He spent his early years working for Skyline in Hemet and later went on to pursue his own business of landscaping and did that for about 30 years. Geno was a very driven and hardworking man. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping and hunting. Geno loved spending time with his family as well. Genovevo had a great interest in classic cars. He even owned some of his own vintage rides. He was an incredible man who impacted so many people around him. Geno was funny, caring, straight-forward, a very respectable man. Everyone could count on Geno for any type of support they needed. Genovevo will be greatly missed by everyone who had the chance to know him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosendo and Aniceta Valdez, and his grandson, Christopher Duarte. Genovevo is survived by his wife, Mary Valdez, his children, Jeannie (Rick) Brant, Richard (Mark Wyatt) Valdez, Mary Elizabeth Valdez, and Genovevo (Candy) Valdez Jr., his grandchildren, Jessica (Steven) Brant Blanden, Matthew (Kristina) Brant, Katelynn Brant, Jack (Kylee) Duarte Jr, Shelby (Justin) Vivanco, Broc Carter, his great grandchildren, Emma Bustos, Ellie May Brant, Ethan Brant, Tristan Duarte, Jack Duarte III, Carter Vivanco, Lincoln Vivanco and a host of family and friends. A private family viewing and Rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 10:30AM and a graveside will follow at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery. There will not be a reception.
