George William Welsh, 102 of Hemet, California passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017. He was born on Friday, May 21, 1915 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Frank Turner Smith and Janet Margaret (Hood) Welsh.
George moved from Winnipeg in 1919 to live with his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Charles Welsh in New Westminster, BC, Canada. George is a veteran of the Royal Air Force serving from 1939-1946 during WWII.
George married Audrey Carthew(deceased) in 1945 and they were married for 59 years. He is survived by four children; Gary Welsh, Robert Welsh, Myrna Welsh-Peare and Donna Peterson. He also has five grandchildren; John Carl Peterson(deceased), Nicole Peterson, Gary Welsh Jr., Jennifer Welsh and Bobbi Welsh.
George and his family lived in New Westminster until 1951 at which time they moved to Seattle, Washington until moving to Anaheim, California in 1958. Upon retiring in 1959, George and Audrey moved to Hemet, California where they lived out the rest of their lives.
George will be laid to rest at a private service at Jasper Cemetery in Jasper, Alberta, Canada.
