Glen was born Feb. 6, 1932 to Richard Franklin Lambert Jr. and Thora Aurelia Rogers in Kamas, UT where he milked cows and skied with his brothers. He graduated from South Summit High School in 1951 and attended the U of U and BYU. After serving an LDS mission to Southern California he met Ruth Boswell. They married Sept. 6, 1956 right after he was drafted into the army. After finishing his degree at BYU he worked as an accountant for the rest of his career living mostly in the Southern California area that he had fallen in love with during his mission. He helped Ruth run her 2 bookstores after he retired. He and Ruth have four children: Jan Tadlock, Virginia Kershisnik, Carolyn MacKay and Russell Lambert, 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers and one sister: Rogers (Adele) Lambert, Eugene (Lynda) Lambert, Kay (LouAnn) Lambert, and Aurelia (Jordan) Pederson. His favorite church calling was Scoutmaster and loved having his own son in the troop. Many weekends were spent on campouts and on bike rides. He had an archery target set up in the backyard and when they moved to Hemet, his grandkids loved target shooting with him on his own property. He loved the scriptures and spent a lot of time studying them and living the principles they teach. He made homemade bread several times a week. He cared for Ruth's every need after her stroke in 2001 and wore himself out in her service. Kind, gentle, soft-spoken, industrious, frugal, and forgiving all describe Glen. He died unexpectedly on Jan. 5, 2013. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held in Hemet, CA on January 18, with burial following at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
