

Herbert William Connors, Jr., 78, passed away November 6, 2013, in Murrieta, CA. Herb was born March 10, 1935 in Englewood, NJ to Herbert W. Connors, Sr. and Mildred Marie Kahrs. Herb is survived by his wife Louise and his three sons Dan, Brian and Chris. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Cole along with 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Herb attended NYU and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1957. He was honorably discharged in 1963. He married Louise Carlson on November 22, 1958. At an early age, Herb honed is talent for art and became a well-crafted cartoonist. In 1971, he launched Connors Advertising, which carried on for more than 35 years.
Herb was a founding member of Escondido Continental Little League. He designed many sweepstakes-winning floats for the Escondido Christmas Parades on behalf of the little league and House of Prayer Lutheran Church. He also won an award from the city for his outstanding contribution to the beautification of Escondido. In honor of Herb's contributions to the church, the library at Community Lutheran was dedicated in his name.
Funeral services will be held this Saturday, November 16th at 3pm, Community Lutheran Church, 3575 East Valley Pkwy, Escondido, CA, 92027. All are welcome to attend. Memorials can be made on his behalf to the Community Lutheran Church Library. Internment will be at the Riverside National Cemetery.
