Born Wednesday, June 5, 1968 in Kansas City, Missouri, he was the son of the late Howard Lindsay and the late Loydene (Geer) Lindsay. He was the husband of Deana Lindeman.
Howard graduated from Le Cordon Bleu culinary school and spent 25 years as an executive chef winning numerous awards. For five years in a row, he won the Phoenix New Times contest for the best prime rib, which he used to make sandwiches with sautéed mushrooms and au jus sauce, one of his favorite meals.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and cooking for family get-togethers. Howard always cooked Thanksgiving dinner and would make regular mashed potatoes, but jalapeño mashed potatoes that once you ate you would never go back to eating regular mashed potatoes again.
He also worked as a pest control specialist for many years, winning 42 awards in just one year. One client, and close friend, was Dot Wilkinson, who played for the PBSW Ramblers, one of Arizona’s semi-professional women’s softball teams, and who is a member of the National Softball Hall of Fame and Museum.
Howard had a passion for dirt track racing and owned his own racing car, which was number 18J. The “J” was for John. He also participated in several dirt racing competitions and did quite well in every one he entered.
Howard was a practical joker and enjoyed a good laugh. He even did standup comedy routines in the area. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are wife, Deana Lindeman, son, Henry John Lindsay, brother, Raymond Longwell, sisters, Sherry Longwell, Pamela Mulich, Kimberly Coleman and Christy Valdez.
