Imogene Hill

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the JOY of thy LORD!” (Matt.25:23).  She exemplified this Bible verse.  She was the truest definition of a Christian I have ever known.  She lived 34,066 days and made each day count.  She enriched all of our lives with love, generosity and service.

I have known my MIL for 46 years and am grateful for her loving spirit and her Christian walk.  She shared her Guidepost magazines, Billy Graham TV shows, Bible verse calendars and her prayers.  “Honor her for all her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”  (Proverbs 31:31).

She was an amazing grandma, attending school plays, church choir programs, babysitting and even camped with us.  She opened her home and made each of us feel at home.  

Here is a Nov. 2013 letter my daughter, Kaitlyn, wrote to Grandma Imogene:

“ “Dear Grandma,
You have always taken such good care of us grandkids.  You have watched me grow all these years and through the years always welcoming me lovingly.  

Thank you for making the long journey to come visit me in Pismo Beach.  Thank you for picking lemons, oranges and grapefruits in your backyard.  The lemonade was always delicious and I appreciated the full bag you sent me home with.

You have always been so kind and caring.  I am so happy that you are my grandmother.  You mean the world to me.  I have always enjoyed the Christmases spent at your home with all of the family.  

I love you very much Grandma!				Kaitlyn Danece Hill””

She was wonderful and we all loved her!

Now that she is in HEAVEN with Jesus and her son, Raymond, what a glorious time!  It is said when we close our eyes on earth for the very last time, the very next moment we open our eyes to see Jesus.
She remember now, all the happy memories!


I remember growing up down the street on Tamy Lane from Uncle Max and Aunt Imogene. We were at their home a lot and enjoyed playing with their kids. Aunt Imogene was always so gracious and welcoming to us. 

I will see you again someday. Condolences to the Hill family.

I want to express my sincere condolences with the passing of my dear, loving Aunt Gene. I remember how sweet and funny she was, always welcoming me into her home. She will be missed. She was blessed with a wonderful family who loved her very much. I know she is looking over all of us. Until we meet again.  

Steve and I want to send our heartfelt condolences.  Aunt Gene was a sweet lady and was always so pleasant to be around.  We will truly miss her.  🩷  Love, Steve and Brenda Christy 

I remember hearing about her long before I met her.  Everyone told me how sweet she was and after I met her I understood why.  Even though I didn’t see her often Johnny and I got cards and letters from her often.  She always liked to come to the farm when she came home to visit.  I will continue to think of her often.  Love and prayers to all her family.  She was a special lady!

When I was in 5th grade I decided to learn the flute. Grandma was very happy and asked me to learn home on the range. I remember thinking to myself that I needed to learn that song as soon as possible. Home on the Range was one of the first songs I ever learned and performed. She was always happy to watch me perform no matter what instrument I was playing. She also was great to talk to. I would call her at least once a week because of how fun she was to speak with. I will miss her dearly and am glad I got to see her not too long ago. I didn’t think it would be the last time but we enjoyed it. She told me she wanted to see Grace Maximus and myself again soon. I wish I could visit again but I know her suffering is over and that I will see her again someday.
