

James was born on November 13, 1925 in Floydada, Texas, to James and Hessie Bryant. After High School, James joined the Navy and served as a CPO in World War 2. In October 1964 he retired from the Navy and worked at China Lake Naval Weapons Station in the Calibration Lab.
James is survived by his sisters Ruth Bradley and Betty Jo Jones; his brother Frank Bryant; his daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Bryant) and Kevin Henry; his sons and daughters-in-law Terry and Denise Attkisson, Larry and Barbara Attkisson; nine grandchildren Angie (Attkisson) Hawk, Corey Attkisson, Travis Attkisson, Scott Attkisson, David Attkisson, Michael Attkisson, Paul Attkisson, Kate (Henry) Moncrief, and Tyler Henry; nine great-grandchildren Trapper Hawk, Austin Attkisson, Danielle Attkisson, Riley Attkisson, Thatcher Attkisson, Clifford Moncrief, Merritt Moncrief, Abigail Attkisson, and Emery Attkisson.
James loved traveling, bowling, golfing, and fishing. He was also an avid reader and loved solving puzzles. He volunteered as a Boy Scout Leader, Crime Watch Captain, Elks member, Fleet Reserve President, and Usher Coordinator at the churches he attended in Sun City and Ridgecrest. James was devoted to his family and loved spending time visiting and playing games. He will be missed by his family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Miller-Jones Sun City Chapel, 26770 Murrieta Road, Sun City, California .
A Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Thursday at Miller-Jones Sun City Chapel located at 26770 Murrieta Road Sun City, California 92586, followed by the interment in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA, at 2:01pm
