

James William Hamner, 88 of Hemet, California passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2012.He was born Sunday, August 5, 1923 in Anaheim, California. On August 21, 1944 he married his beloved Mary Hamner and they raised their family in Buena Park. James worked with the Los Angeles Police Department for 25 years. James and Mary moved to Hemet in 1979. James proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1942 until 1945. He was a Veteran of World War II. James is preceded in death by his grand daughter, Danette Zea Young. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Schoonover Hamner; son, Curt (Rhonda) Hamner of Forest Falls, CA; daughters, Vicki (Jean) Hogg of Hemet, CA and Janette (Dan) Young of Hillsdale, WI; five grandchildren, Suzette (Joel) Thompson, Gwynette (Jeff) Werth, Garret (Sarah) Hamner, Anna (Adam) Day and Graham Hamner; nine great grandchildren, Danette Thompson, Brita Thompson, Hanne Thompson, Bendsen Thompson, Rachel (Chris) Goodman, Timothy Werth, Joshua Werth, Rowan Beatrice Hamner, and Molly Theodora Hamner; one great great grandchild; Ava Faith Goodman.
