

Jo Ann Deemy, 72, of Hemet, CA, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, atHemet Valley Medical Center in Hemet, CA. Born March 16, 1941 in Jefferson, Iowa; she was the daughter of the late Oral and Edna Powers.
A beautiful woman with a kind spirit, she dearly loved her family and friends. She was a woman of faith and loved the Lord. Jo Ann was a devoted member of the San Jacinto Assembly of God. She assisted her husband in pastoring churches in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and California for twenty years. Professionally, Jo Ann served as an Office Manager in Property Management for twenty years. She always represented her family with class. She loved jewelry and always dressed well.
Jo Ann had always been very talented in the Arts and Crafts department and spent many, many hours doing ceramics, crocheting, knitting, scrap booking and collecting figurines, dolls and other ornamental pieces. She was especially talented in decorating her home and making it feel warm and inviting. She was always a gracious hostess.
She was also an avid reader and focused on books about the Amish. Shortly before she passed, she read a six-book series in five days. Jo Ann enjoyed any chance to travel and the highlights of her life were a trip back to New York and Pennsylvania in 2006 and a seven-day cruise to islands of Hawaii in 2008.
Preceded in passing by her children, Mechele Kay and Matthew Lynn Deemy; Jo Ann is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Richard Deemy; children, Michael (Jamie) Deemy, Mark (Debbie) Deemy, and Melissa (Dale) Perry; sisters, Joyce Stark, Jean Doty, and Jerilyn Carlson; grandchildren, Brian, Nicole, Jake, Jordyn, Elizabeth, and Eric; and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Andrew, Emma, and Ava. Jo Ann loved her children and grandchildren without measure and prayed for them every single day. She will be sincerely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
A funeral service will be held to celebrate Jo Ann’s life on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the San Jacinto Assembly of God, 300 W. First Street, San Jacinto,CA 92583. She will be respectfully laid to rest at Renner Cemetery in Ogden, IA at a later date.
