Joan Lucas of Hemet, age 80 passed away on January 19, 2014. Joan was born in Fond du Lac, WI on March 13, 1933. Joan and husband Kenneth were married in San Diego, CA on March 5, 1954. Joan was an 18 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 53, serving as membership chairman for 12 years. She loved to crochet and antique shop.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth, daughter Barbara Wimer (Bill) of Hemet, son Kenneth Jr. (Diane) of Mishawaka, IN, and son John (Lynne) of Lakeside CA, 5 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, and two great grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Cornerstone Hospice, 1461 E. Cooley Drive, Suite 220, Colton, CA 92324, or the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 53, P.O. Box 2425, Hemet, CA 92543.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday February 3, 2014, 10:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 26340 Soboba Street, Hemet, followed by a luncheon at American Legion Post 53, 124 N. Ramona Street, Hemet. Internment will be at Riverside National Cemetery at 2 pm.
